Paul Ross has been MYO's conductor since 1990. Mr. Ross holds degrees in cello and conducting from Julliard School of Music and is cellist for the Portland String Quartet. He conducts the Androscoggin Valley Community Orchestra and is founding conductor of the Augusta Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Ross teaches at Bowdoin College and is artist-in-residence at Colby College . He has been the principal cellist for the Portland Symphony Orchestra, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, and the Robert Shaw Chorale. He previously conducted the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra. In 1998, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Music Degree from Colby College .
